SMEs Play a Key Role in the Green Transition – esgResilience Simplifies Sustainability Reporting for SMEs
esgResilience has developed an easy-to-use service to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with sustainability reporting. CEO Jukka Honkaniemi emphasizes that the green transition cannot succeed without SMEs, which account for 60% of business sector emissions in the EU.
“If we do not get SMEs involved in emission reduction efforts, the entire economy’s resilience is at risk,” he notes.
The esgResilience platform simplifies ESG (environmental, social, and governance) reporting by guiding companies through a structured process. The service generates analytics and reports that support business development, compliance with EU regulations, and access to green financing. These insights help SMEs navigate sustainability requirements, assess risks, and identify business opportunities. Many entrepreneurs have found the reports valuable for business development.
With sustainability reporting becoming a “license to operate,” SMEs must be prepared to meet increasing stakeholder and regulatory demands. esgResilience has already expanded its service to four countries and is in discussions in over ten more.
“Our goal is to support half a million SMEs in their green transition within five years,” Honkaniemi states.
