ESG stands for Environment, Social and Governance, and refers to environmental sustainability, social sustainability and good governance. Responsible companies operate in the most sustainable way possible, taking into account ESG aspects, i.e. their impact on the environment and society. In the business world, resilience is the ability to cope with change and turn challenges and external crises into opportunities that strengthen sustainable competitiveness.
The EU taxonomy is the EU’s sustainable finance classification system, which aims to list sustainable economic activities from an environmental perspective, to guide finance towards green investments and to guide businesses towards more sustainable practices. The Regulation provides uniform guidelines and definitions of what sustainability means in different sectors. The taxonomy contributes to the EU’s environmental objectives and the green transition by channelling funding towards sustainable projects.
The time needed to complete the survey varies depending on the size of the company and the amount of economic activity. We recommend that you reserve about 1-2 hours to complete the survey.
The best way to prepare for the survey is to open your company’s latest audited financial statement alongside it. For the emissions calculation, information on fuel and electricity consumption for the past fiscal year is needed from your energy supplier’s billing and/or contract information.
After completing the survey, you will receive a summary of your climate risk profile to help you assess the sustainability of your business. You can compare results against industry targets, set targets for sustainable business development and communicate your company’s climate goals to key stakeholders. Sustainable business development will ensure access to finance in the future and enable the utilization of green growth opportunities.
Responses can be updated and changed as necessary. There is no time limit for answering the survey.
We calculate your emissions according to the GHG protocol, divided into Scope 1, 2 and 3 emission categories. Scope 1 and 2 emissions are calculated using product and site-specific emission factors. Scope 3 emissions are estimated using top-level emission factors.
Our survey works on all browsers, mobile devices and tablets.
The collected climate risk data will be used to calculate the emissions of SMEs and to assess the sustainability of your business operations according to the EU taxonomy. Our aim is to support SMEs and financial operators in preparing for the financial risks of climate change. The data we collect helps the financial sector to assess the climate risks of their own loan and investment portfolios. All rights to this survey and its contents are owned by esgResilience Oy.
